What makes a restaurant worth loving?

Not the room by itself, or the food by itself, but the people whose labor, rituals, care, and creativity give the place its life.

Oyster Sunday brought Jewell Studio on to concept, direct, and produce the launch campaign for the Movement to Organize for Restaurant Equity, a coalition working toward a restaurant industry that is thriving, equitable, and enduring. Filmed across five New York City restaurants and narrated by Padma Lakshmi, the campaign found its story in the choreography already happening inside those kitchens and dining rooms: the quiet preparation, the heat, the hands, and the beautiful chaos of service.

The result felt less like an institutional announcement than a love letter to the people who make restaurants possible.

In 2025, the Lucie Awards named Laura Wimer Jewell and Gabriel Jewell Creative Directors of the Year for the campaign.
